The 4th Central Asian International Exhibition "Textile Machinery and Technologies - CAITME 2008" started its operation on 16 April until 18 April 2008 at the "UzExpoCentre" National Exhibition Complex in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Main objective of the exhibition is that creation of conditions for wide presentation of newly-designed products and modern equipment designed for manufacturing of textile and garment production, which meets world standards.

In all, 130 companies from 17 countries and regions of the world are participating at CAITME, comparing with last edition in last year, the exhibiting area of this edition is 1.6 times larger than last year, and the number of exhibitors is 1.4 times more than last year, thus, the total number of European manufacturers at CAITME 2008 makes up 55 per cent from general number of participants, the main from Germany and Italy; Turkish exhibitors is up to 35 per cent, and total 9 Chinese exhibitors presented themselves.
China Texmatech Co., Ltd. (CTMTC) leading its two largest Chinese suppliers of Jingwei and Zhengzhou textile machinery Co., Ltd. participated in the event. During the show, the customers from Uzbekistan, Russia and other Central Asian countries had shown their great interests in the exhibits, technologies and latest machinery of CTMTC stand.

At the present time, Uzbekistan ranks second in terms of exporting raw materials for textile industry, and in terms of raw cotton cultivation it occupies the fifth place. At the same time, its cotton processing industry is also developing rapidly.
More than 1 billion U.S. dollars have been invested directly by foreign investors, as well as the major is towards the yarn spinning industry. From 1995 to 2007, the number of spinning mills expanded from 152 to 30,000. According to the forecast, the annual cotton processing capacity of textile industry in Uzbekistan will be up to 750,000 tons in 2012; and 79 projects will be executed in 2012, its capital of investment could be up to 614.6 million U.S. dollars, in addition, 36.2 thousand employment opportunities would be created accordingly.
In the near future, Uzbekistan definitely will play a role of considerable market of textile industry in the world. |
